How to Update Your AYON Server

Update your local AYON server to the latest version.

⚠️ Please always backup your server before making updates!

This guide focuses on self hosted, local AYON servers using ayon-docker. Cloud-hosted servers update automatically. You can see the latest published releases on our changelog.

Steps for updating

  1. Backup: Always backup your server as outlined here before proceeding.

  2. Navigate to your your ayon-docker directory and open a new command line interface.

  3. Run the following commands to update and rebuild the server:

git pull origin main         # Fetch the latest Docker compose file from the repository 
docker compose pull          # Pull the latest images defined in the compose file 
docker compose up -d --build # Rebuild and restart the services in detached mode
