Overview

The Browser tool allows you to browse published products and also includes additional administrative functionalities, such as product delivery and deletion. It shares the same user interface (UI) as the Loader tool.

Delivery Action

The Delivery action is used to export any selected asset, products, and their versions to a configurable folder. Delivery follows a structure defined by a template, which must be configured first by an Administrator in the delivery anatomy templates.

Steps for Using delivery action:

  • Select all required products for export (you can change theirs versions by double clicking on 'Version' value)

  • Right click and select Deliver Versions from context menu

  • Select predefined Delivery template (must be configured by Admin system or project wide)

  • Fill value for root folder (folder will be created if it doesn't exist)

  • Filter out type of representation you are not interested in

  • Push Deliver button

  • Dialog must be kept open until export is finished

  • In a case of problems with any of the representation, that one will be skipped, description of error will be provided in the dialog

Calculate & Delete Old Versions

The Calculate Old Versions and Delete Old Versions actions in the Desktop Browser allow you to manage the published files related to selected products.

Calculate Old Versions

Provides insights into the total file size of the selected versions.

Delete Old Versions

Allows you to delete the published files for the selected versions.

Steps for Using These Actions:

  1. Select Products: Select the products you want to run the action on.

  2. Access Options: Click the options button on the right side of the desired action.

  3. Specify Exclusion: A pop-up window appears where you can specify the versions you want to exclude from the action (e.g., to keep the latest 2 versions).

  4. When Clicking the Calculate Old Versions action, it will then show the total size of the specified versions.

  5. When Clicking the Delete Old Versions action will delete the published files for the specified versions.

    Important Note on Deletion: Currently, deleting versions from the Desktop Browser does not delete their corresponding version entities in the database (DB). Therefore, you must also go to the Browser Page, select the versions, right-click, and delete them to fully remove the version records.
