Create Versions Without a Pipeline

Overview

AYON enables you to use production tracking capabilities directly, allowing you to upload reviewable versions through the web UI without needing any AYON pipeline tools. Currently, this feature supports uploading reviewables only.

Uploading versions is currently separate from the web publisher addon. Uploading versions does not require installing any addons, as uploads are processed on the server and are limited to reviewables only. In contrast, the web publisher addon is a dedicated addon that leverages the AYON pipeline for publishing and supports various product types.

Upload a Version

You can upload versions easily by dragging and dropping your files into the The Details Panel of a folder or a task. You will then be prompted to enter the product name.

To upload a new reviewable version:

  • In the Browser tab, Right-click a folder in the hierarchy list on the left, or right-click an existing product in the products view. If the product does not exist, AYON will create it and associate a new version beneath it.

  • Select Upload Version.

  • A window will appear where you can specify the product type, product name, version number, and reviewable files. Although you can select different product types, you will only be able to upload reviewable files. See the list of valid reviewable formats in Default File Support.

In AYON, reviewables are associated with products, and products are associated with folders.

Delet a Version

In the Browser tab, you can remove a product version by right-clicking a product and selecting "Delete Version."

If the version you are deleting is the only version for that product, you will be prompted to delete the product after deleting the version.
