The Plan tab answers "who is available, and when?". The Schedule tab answers "what is each person working on, and when is it due?".

Every task in the project appears as a bar on a timeline, with a start and end date. Move a bar and the task's dates change. In the Live scenario these are the real task dates, so everyone in AYON sees them.

Some typical uses:

• Turn a booking into tasks: A producer has booked three animators for six weeks. Use Create Schedule on that booking to date all the animation tasks within those six weeks.

• React to a change: A client review moves back a week. Drag the sequence's bar and every task inside it moves with it.

• Break up big work: A lighting task is too large for one block of time. Split it into subtasks and give each its own dates.

• Check the plan fits: Turn on the bookings overlay to see whether the modeling tasks sit inside the time booked for modelers.

Bookings overlay and ghosting

Turn on Show Planner to display the current scenario's bookings above the task list. Select a booking and it is ghosted over the tasks it relates to:

• By task type: a Modeling booking ghosts over all modeling tasks.

• By resource: it ghosts over tasks assigned to the people on the booking.

You can turn ghosting off in the page's customise settings.

Create Schedule

Right-click a booking and select Create Schedule to apply its dates to matching tasks: all tasks, a task type, or the booked people.

Subtasks

• Manage: Use the floating button left of a task to view and add subtasks.

• Wrapping: A parent task stretches to cover its subtasks' earliest start and latest end.

• Split: Right-click a task and select Split into Subtasks to divide it at the mouse position.

• Live sync: Subtask changes in the Live scenario update production data straight away.

Scenarios
